After much prayer and consideration, Singled Out Weekend has been cancelled due to a low number of registrations. This event was the dream of one single mother who had a desire to bring Christian singles together in south Florida. She took a bold leap of faith and financial risk to put this seminar together, fully believing that there would be enough interested singles to fund it. Needless to say, disappointment on her part hardly describes the decision to cancel the event. Please keep her in your prayers, asking God to help her use this experience for good in the future. We had the normal every day fights about who to date, when to date, jobs, money, etc But we had the not so normal fights too... I felt like I had to live up to a certain expectation and if I didn't then I was disciplined And because of those fights and the feelings that resulted from them, I had a lot of anger and resentment built up which made me think that I hated my mom I KNOW that there are other moms and daughters out there that are going through the same thing that my mom and I went through But guess what....there is good news! You can move past it! It's all about taking that first step... It is definitely the hardest thing to do...but it is so worth it! Taking that first step opens up a whole new door of possibilities that you can create for your life So I encourage you, if you are going through a fight with your mom or...maybe you're reading/watching this and you're a mom and you're having problems with your child...take that first step! She has starred in Hollywood films such as Just Married, Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Sin City, The Dead Girl, Uptown Girls, Happy Feet and Riding in Cars with Boys. Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Sharon Murphy, who is of Irish and Eastern European descent, and Angelo Bertolotti, an Italian American. Murphy's parents divorced shortly after her birth, and she was raised in Edison, New Jersey, and Burbank, California, by her single, working-class mother; she has had little contact with her father since the divorce. Murphy was raised a Baptist and attended a Lutheran school, but is now a non-denominational practicing Christian. When she was nine years old, Murphy landed a singing role in a musical version of Les Misérables, and had signed on with a manager by the time she turned thirteen. Her mother, Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer when Brittany was 15. She survived after having a double mastectomy. Murphy landed her first job in Hollywood when she was fourteen, starring as Brenda Drexell in the television series Drexell's Class. She then went on to play Molly Morgan in the short lived The Torkelsons spinoff Almost Home. In the Frasier episode "Give Him The Chair", she played a school child in a play of "10 Little Indians" who cannot remember her lines.
