Ashley Smith Speech Preview

Ashley Smith Speech Preview
Premiere Speakers Bureau
23 min - Feb 22, 2007

Premiere Speakers Bureau: Exclusively Representing the World's Most Compelling Speakers Ashley Smith, The Atlanta Hostage Hero By her own account, Ashley Smith is far from an angel or a hero. Yet today, her face is known around the world as the single mother who persuaded Brian Nichols, Atlanta’s courtroom killer, to surrender to police. Nichols called Ashley “an angel sent from God", but, ironically, it was Ashley’s less-than-angelic past that allowed her to convince him to face justice. Elizabeth Ashley Copeland Smith was born August 1, 1978 in Augusta, Georgia, surrounded by a God-fearing, sports-loving family. Her parents divorced when she was a toddler, and she spent much of her early years in the company of her mother’s extended family - especially her grandfather and aunt, who both worked at Augusta Christian, the private school Ashley attended through 8th grade. At an early age she took up with Mack Smith and became pregnant less than a year into the relationship. The couple married just two months before baby Paige was born prematurely, weighing less than 3 lbs. It was a volatile marriage, but Ashley was determined to keep her family together. Things were beginning to settle down when Mack ran into his old gang, exchanged ugly words and was fatally stabbed by people he once called friends. Following Mack’s murder, Ashley willingly gave her Aunt Kim temporary custody of Paige, who was now a healthy three-and-a-half year old. She wanted to be a mother to her daughter, but her addiction to methamphetamines kept pulling her farther away from her dreams. God kept calling, but Ashley always put Him on hold while she flirted with temptation. All of that changed dramatically on March 11,.. Singled Out Weekend Getaway CANCELLED

Singled Out Weekend Getaway CANCELLED

3 min - Dec 10, 2007

After much prayer and consideration, Singled Out Weekend has been cancelled due to a low number of registrations. This event was the dream of one single mother who had a desire to bring Christian singles together in south Florida. She took a bold leap of faith and financial risk to put this seminar together, fully believing that there would be enough interested singles to fund it. Needless to say, disappointment on her part hardly describes the decision to cancel the event. Please keep her in your prayers, asking God to help her use this experience for good in the future. Thank you for your interest in the seminar and for your continued prayers.

Church Myth-Busting #5(B): MIND OF THE CHRISTIAN IS NOT LAZY

Church Myth-Busting #5(B): MIND OF THE CHRISTIAN IS NOT LAZY
NotYourTypicalNegro
10 min - Nov 15, 2007

GO TO PART C: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfBo12XqrPk This series is directed at ministers and teachers, as well as people seeking to challenge their understanding of scripture. We will be dealing with false and/or questionable teachings, beliefs and practices in the Christian church regarding questioning God Himself, His Word, and those who teach it. DISCUSSION: -A renewed mind (Romans 12:2; Eph 4:22-25; Titus 3:5) -Discernment (distinguish; judge) -STUDY on 'discernment': http://www.acts17-11.com/discern.html -Studying to show one's self approved (2 Timothy 2:15) -The Spirit of Truth (John 16:13) -Asking/answering (1 Peter 3:15; Col 4:6; 2 Timothy 2:25) -People who questioned God: Moses; Abraham (had a relationship with a God who was real); Job; Gideon; Jonah; Paul; Jesus (questioned The Father and WAS questioned) -The importance and necessity of dealing with questions LOGIC BEHIND PROHIBITING WOMEN FROM MINISTRY ACTIVITIES: Supposed Authority for Prohibitions: 1 Tim 2:12 ("suffer a woman not to teach") 1) Woman can't say anything in the church building. PROBLEM: In scripture, women are encouraged to engage in church activities that involved speaking. 2) Women can speak in the church building, but not during services. PROBLEM: a) Doesn't say that anywhere in scripture; b) NO ONE -- male or female -- should be disorderly during worship, so why a prohibition against just women? 3) Women can't teach at all. PROBLEM: a) In scripture, women are encouraged to teach; b) conflict with Great Commission (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 14:21) to teach all nations; make disciples of men. 4) Women can't teach "the Bible" or "spiritual matters". PROLEM: a) Not found in scripture; b) conflict with Great Commission (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 14:21) to teach all nations; make disciples of men. 5) Women can't teach boys up to a certain age on "spiritual matters". PROBLEM: a) Not found in scripture; b) conflict with responsibility of mothers (especially single mothers) 6) Women can't teach men on "spiritual matters". PROBLEM: a) Not found in scripture; b) conflict with Great Commission (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 14:21) to teach all nations; make disciples of men. 7) Wives can't teach husbands on "spiritual matters". PROBLEM: a) Not found in scripture; b) conflict with Great Commission (Matthew 28:19; Mark 16:15; Acts 14:21) to teach all nations; make disciples of men. 8) All women are forbidden to teach or excercise authority over a man. PROBLEM: a) Doesn't say "all women"; epistles are to and Corinthian, Ephesian church; b) Ignores cultural realities; c) Ignores fact that women can be a boss, in leadership or a teacher on a job or in government) 9) Women can have authority over men in work, business and government because they are not "spiritual matters": PROBLEM: Scripture doesn't say that; instead a) says that work IS a "spiritual matter" (col 3:23-24; Eph 6:5-7); b) says that government is a "spiritual matter" (Romans 13:1-5)

The Hippy Gourmet Episode #97 – in Dolo, Italy at Restaurant/Hotel Villa Goetzen

The Hippy Gourmet Episode #97 – in Dolo, Italy at Restaurant/Hotel Villa Goetzen
ICFX-TV
26 min - May 30, 2005

Less than fifteen minutes from Venice proper, nestled on a quiet canal on the Brenta Riviera is the Hotel and Restaurant Villa Goetzen! Our hosts the Minchio family, Mother Paula, Father Paolo and sons Christian and Massimilan, run every single aspect of this charming hotel and restaurant. The first recipe is a Tuna Tar Tar with Tropical Fruit. This dish just pops with flavor and texture, marinating in the fridge and garnished with fresh Citrus juice and poppy seeds! Yum! The second dish Massimilian shows us is his Tuna Noche, modeled after a dish he and his brother Christian prepared in the Virgin Islands during a great chef cook off at Restaurant Noche. This Tuna is seared to perfection after being rolled in a special blend of regional flour and sesame seeds. The plate is completed with a savory dipping sauce that also seasons the Arugula bed the Tuna is placed upon. The third and final recipe is a Sautéed Halibut with Zucchini and Curry Sauce. Here we have several succulent Halibut steaks that are sautéed on top of fresh Zucchini, mixed with a little white wine and a pinch or two of Curry Powder. The dish is garnished with home baked bread sticks and stands as a tall tower of total deliciousness! Villa Goetzen and the Minchio family represent the best of what Italy is all about, warmth, hospitality, love for each other and for what they do and a real joy in sharing all of this with their guests. So next time when you plan on visiting Venice, come stay at Villa Goetzen and have the best of all worlds!

We had the normal every day fights about who to date, when to date, jobs, money, etc But we had the not so normal fights too... I felt like I had to live up to a certain expectation and if I didn't then I was disciplined And because of those fights and the feelings that resulted from them, I had a lot of anger and resentment built up which made me think that I hated my mom I KNOW that there are other moms and daughters out there that are going through the same thing that my mom and I went through But guess what....there is good news! You can move past it! It's all about taking that first step... It is definitely the hardest thing to do...but it is so worth it! Taking that first step opens up a whole new door of possibilities that you can create for your life So I encourage you, if you are going through a fight with your mom or...maybe you're reading/watching this and you're a mom and you're having problems with your child...take that first step! Asterpix Interactive Video - Britttany Murphy at Golden Globe Awards 2004

Asterpix Interactive Video - Britttany Murphy at Golden Globe Awards 2004

28 sec - Aug 21, 2008

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brittany_Murphy Brittany Annee Murphy (born November 10, 1977) is an American actress and recording artist. She has starred in Hollywood films such as Just Married, Clueless, Girl, Interrupted, 8 Mile, Sin City, The Dead Girl, Uptown Girls, Happy Feet and Riding in Cars with Boys. Murphy was born in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of Sharon Murphy, who is of Irish and Eastern European descent, and Angelo Bertolotti, an Italian American. Murphy's parents divorced shortly after her birth, and she was raised in Edison, New Jersey, and Burbank, California, by her single, working-class mother; she has had little contact with her father since the divorce. Murphy was raised a Baptist and attended a Lutheran school, but is now a non-denominational practicing Christian. When she was nine years old, Murphy landed a singing role in a musical version of Les Misérables, and had signed on with a manager by the time she turned thirteen. Her mother, Sharon was diagnosed with breast cancer when Brittany was 15. She survived after having a double mastectomy. Murphy landed her first job in Hollywood when she was fourteen, starring as Brenda Drexell in the television series Drexell's Class. She then went on to play Molly Morgan in the short lived The Torkelsons spinoff Almost Home. In the Frasier episode "Give Him The Chair", she played a school child in a play of "10 Little Indians" who cannot remember her lines. She also had a small role in Season 3 of Boy Meets World as Topanga's best friend Trini. She was also the lead singer of the band Blessed With Soul in the early 1990s, and was at one time signed on to play late singer Janis Joplin in a biography, but the film was not made because of legal disputes over music rights. Murphy has since starred in many successful films, including Clueless (1995), Girl, Interrupted (1999), Don't Say a Word (2001), 8 Mile (2002) and Uptown Girls (2003) as well as many lesser known films, such as Spun (2003). She has also appeared on several television series includ...
